Food & Budget 10.20

There wasn’t really a budget set, just giving an update on what we’ve been buying for this month so far. Here we go:

  • Broccoli $2.40
  • Carrots $2.46
  • Celery $1.86
  • Lemons $1.00
  • Lettuce $5.29
  • Oranges $8.99
  • Bell peppers $2.04
  • Spinach $3.99
  • Sweet potatoes $7.49

DAIRY

  • Butter $7.99
  • Cottage Cheese $4.99
  • Heavy cream $4.00
  • Milk 1/2 gallon $2.69
  • Yogurt $4.99

OTHER

  • Chicken $21.61
  • Eggs $2.99
  • Chocolate chips $5.00
  • Flour $2.99
  • Coffee $11.69
  • Ready to eat lentils $4.59
  • Kodiak syrups $9.99
  • Mayo $3.99
  • Pistachios $14.49
  • Pumpkin seeds $1.90
  • Bagels $1.78
  • 2 loaves bread and english muffins $9.48
  • Tortilla chips $3.98
  • Cookies $6.54 – I honestly do not know what this is, from the 4th, but there it is 😆
  • Sandwich from work $3.99

So the total comes out to be $166.90.  This includes 3 days before we left and 3 days since we came back.  Not great but not horrible either?  I’m not sure!  We did get a lot of bulk items though.  I think I need to start getting ridiculous amounts of produce again, or at least shopping more often through the week for produce.  I don’t know, I know we need to eat more of it.  Anyway, I think the goal for this week is to definitely be under $100.  We have lots of food in ‘storage’, between downstairs and the freezer, so we should be able to do this.  We are having family over this week but I plan to keep that in the budget too, somehow 😆
