975th comment winner and a Did you Know…

First the did you know part.  Did you know that a speeding ticket right by my house that has you down for going 53 in a 40 mph zone would cost $117?!  Crazy!!  If you ask me I think that is a little much, not the money part, but getting pulled over for a touch over the 10-mph leeway on the speed limit.  Oh, there isn’t a 10-mph leeway on the speed limit?  Damn.  And did you also know that if you don’t have your registration in the car that a police person will cite you and you get to pay $40?  I do.  In the first time in ages I have gotten pulled over for something other than being in the carpool lane with tinted windows that makes it hard to see I’m not the only person in the car.  Luckily he gave me just a warning on the speeding, but he did cite me for no registration.  I’d say that is fair ๐Ÿ™‚  Excuse me while I go find the stinkin’ paper and get it in the glove box!

As for the first contest winner, it is Jennie!  Thanks for coming out of the woodwork and playing along!  Even though I couldn’t read your blog, those girls with the Odessa hats are just too cute!  We are also getting closer to the big 1000 comments mark, so keep ’em coming ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. Thanks for the input on the camera situation.  I’m pretty much decided on shopping around for a new one.  If you have a favorite, please let me know!

I had no idea that you could get a ticket for no registration in the car, eek!
I have gotten a speeding ticket for going 9 over, I was not a happy camper!! But I whined enough that they dropped the fine to $40 :).

  2. Bummer on the ticket. But at least you only got a warning for the speeding.

  3. Ugh, that sucks! At least he didn’t give you the speeding ticket, too. As far as cameras, we’ve been through quite a few, and tried a lot of brands, and we’ll be sticking with Kodak from now on. That’s what I recommend!

  5. Rats! But then again, you don’t want people speeding right next to your house.

  9. There’s a speed meter sign thingy where the school zone starts near my kids’ elementary school. The normal speed limit is 30 mph. As I approached it the other day, during AM/PM kindergarten change, the car behind me registered 47 mph. Jeebus. I got a little heavy on the brake pedal…how ’bout we mosey along at 10-15 mph through the school zone, asshole? LOL
    Slow down. It’s cheaper. ๐Ÿ™‚
    (is it 1000 yet?)

  10. I like Sony cameras. I have a DSC-F717… and loves it… but don’t go looking for it as they don’t make it anymore ๐Ÿ™‚ Good thing I have 2 of them (1 is mine, the other one was my mom’s).
    Cheers Eva
