Inside Out socks

The Inside Out socks are done!  I got through it okay without much frustration, even though I had to frog.  100_1796As I’ve said before, I love the socks!  Getting to the actual sock wasn’t too fun though.  I will admit that the second sock seemed a lot easier and quicker than the first one.  I was able to relax more and the ribbing on size 0 needles didn’t seem as painful as the first time around.  They are a great fit too, once I am able to get them on!  Here’s the lowdown:

  • Pattern – Inside Out Socks by Kaci Kyler Hays
  • Yarn  – Blue Moon Socks That Rock, colorway Pink Granite
  • Needles – US Sizes 0 and 1, 0s were Kintpicks dpns and the 1s were Crystal Palace dpn100_1798s
  • Took me – overall about a week
  • Comments – This sock sure brought about a lot of controversy over at the sock club blog.  Lots of people made modifications, but I pretty much went by the pattern.  I knit the heel, toe, and leg on size 1 needles, and the foot was knit with the size 0 needles.  I really like the garter toe and heel.  The 12 stitch cable was a little annoying, but once I got used to it it wasn’t really that bad.  All in all, it was an interesting knit and I’m glad I did it.

Soooo, which side do you like best?  I am partial to the ‘inside’, or the second picture.

  2. Not sure which I like better, I’m hoping to start on mine next week. I will admit it took me a while to realize you used different yarn, I kept thinking wow, does mine look anything like that?

  4. Inside-out socks? You are blowing my mind. I think both sides are pretty equal–that is testament to the pattern and the yarn you chose. Great job.

  5. They look absolutely perfect to me, very beautiful work – the pattern is so great, and so is the colourway of the yarn that you were using! And yep, I’d go for the “Inside” too, even though both sides are lovely!
