Some Darling Yarn

100_1458Not that the yarn is Darling, but it is for Darling.  It is the first of probably four skeins that I will need to do.  I think it turned out pretty well!  This is a giant skein of about 220 yards of bulky-ish weight, I don’t know what WPI because I can’t find my control card right now.  It is definitely not solid, but I like the variations in color and I t100_1459hink it will make a really neat coat.  It had been on the bobbins for far too long, and since I’m not knitting on Hidcote at the moment, I figured I may as well get going on the spinning.

I have been knitting a little though, my Winter’s Eve sock is finally growing again.  I made it to the gusset shaping!  I love this sock.  It is my first time using beads, and I’m glad I got some extra beads because I want to do more.  The yarn is the perfect color, too.  Hey, I even used all the beads this time in all the right places!  The whole thing is just making me happy.  No picture, but maybe tomorrow.  In other news, I’m sad to say that I won’t be taking a class this semester after all.  I’ve decided that things are just too crazy around here and it would be too hard on all of us, so I’m dropping it today and taking back my book.  I’m not giving up though, hopefully when The Puppy is a few months older and more trained, we will all be a little more relaxed and happier and open to me needing more time to myself 🙂

  1. That yarn is awesome.
    *istillsayleavetheshawlalone* LOL

  2. Too bad about your class, but I’m sure it’s the best decision. You’ve got to take care of yourself, and not stretch yourself too thin!
