Getting Lost

100_0446 100_0447 After we left the Japanese Garden, I don’t remember what we were going to do, but 100_0458_1 100_0461 we just got lost.  There are supposed to be lots of cool fountains and sculptures hiding around downtown Portland, we only saw a 100_0463 couple and got the clever from-the-car shots of them. The Baby fell asleep and had a much needed, long nap while we were getting lost, so we decided to take a long drive and try to find 100_0465Multnomah Falls.  We never did make it there, got lost after 100_0467 getting off the freeway, but we did eventually end up on the right road.  After driving down and down a sharp curvy road on the mountainside, 100_0469 we came to a road closed sign and couldn’t go any further.  We did find a waterfall on the way there though.  I cannot 100_0470 100_0471 remember the name, and I can’t find it on a search, I want to say Latourelle Falls? .  I got my exercise in on the hike up to see it, 100_0468 toting The Baby the entire way up and down!  It was beautiful though, and well worth it.   When we finally got back near Portland again, we began another trek to a restaraunt I found 100_0473 100_0474 through Citysearch, The Old Market Pub and Brewery.  Sadly I don’t have any pictures of the place, but if you are ever in the area, go there.  Good food and great beer in an old grocery store.  That pretty much sucked up our day, so we headed up to our hotel in Vancouver – it didn’t seem that far on a map, but it turned out to be a little journey!

100_0478 Tomorrow’s post will be about the most beautiful and awesome part of the trip (besides loading up on fiber and seeing my friends!), the coast!
